ANCIENT GREEKS

This workshop covers the mythology, culture and customs of Ancient Greece. The workshop specifically focuses on:

  • The upbringing and education of Greek children.

  • The rights and roles of men, women and children in a Greek democracy.

  • The conflicts between city states, such as Athens and Sparta.

  • Greek religion and mythology, including: Perseus and Medusa,  Icarus, and Theseus and the Minotaur.

Travel to the oracle at Delphi to learn what life was like in Ancient Greece. Pupils become spartans, inventors, poets, philosophers and teachers!

 

Learn what life was like for a child living in Ancient Greece, and watch your pupils transformed into merchants, soldiers, priests and craftspeople, fleshing out their very own city-state, trading, teaching and making sacrifice to the Gods - before warring with their neighbours!

 

Look at the technological and democratic advances made in Ancient Greece, and the culture that they helped to shape, including the stories and myths they told.

 

This workshop will bring the colouful and exciting world of Ancient Greece into your school, complete with battles, sacrifices and even a minotaur!
